Vetropack`s Croatian unit plans waste glass processing plant

Croatia`s sole glass packaging producer Vetropack Straza, a unit of Swiss glass container manufacturer Vetropack, plans to invest between EUR 30 million and EUR 35 million in a new factory for processing waste glass packaging, according to the Croatian economy ministry.

The announcement followed a visit by economy minister Ante Susnjar to the Vetropack Straza plant in Hum na Sutli in northern Croatia. The ministry said the factory would contribute to the development of the circular economy, increased recycling and more efficient use of secondary raw materials in industrial production. Vetropack Straza employs around 700 people and exports approximately 70% of its output.
