Sunterra RE expands energy storage capacity across three solar parks

Bulgaria`s Sunterra RE has officially commissioned Phase 2 of its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at three of its solar parks, located in Galabovo, Kaloyanovo, and Karlovo. The company has received operating permits from the relevant authorities, who confirmed that all facilities fully comply with the required technical, regulatory, and safety standards for commercial operation.

With Phase 2 now complete, Sunterra RE`s total energy storage capacity across the three sites reaches approximately 1,3 GWh, and the combined installed capacity of the projects surpasses 397 MW. Galabovo contributes 150 MW and 450 MWh of storage, Kaloyanovo adds another 150 MW and 506 MWh, and Karlovo rounds out the portfolio with 97 MW and 320 MWh.
