WIN Eurasia 2025 focused on technologies shaping the future of industry

This year´s 31st edition of WIN Eurasia attracted over 700 leading Turkish and international companies and brands and more than 40 000 visitors from all over the world. Organized by Hannover Fairs Turkey, the professional exhibition took place from 28 to 31 May at the Istanbul Expo Center under the motto "Driven by automation". A representative of the South-East European Industrial Market magazine was among the international technical journalists who had the opportunity to visit and cover the forum live at the special invitation of the organizers.

The main topics and highlights

WIN Eurasia 2025 focused on the most cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of industry – automated machines and systems, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, electronics and electrical equipment, hydrogen solutions, etc. In addition to a large-scale exhibition area spread over 6 halls, the event also offered a rich conference program that underlined important themes, such as digitalization, smart and sustainable factories, the robotics renaissance, the AI revolution, etc.

WIN Eurasia featured four specialized areas, underlining some of the main technological pillars of tomorrow´s manufacturing – 5G, Industrial Artificial Intelligence, Hydrogen and Fuel Cells and Welding. For the first time ever, the event included a dedicated welding applications zone, reflecting the development of the welding sector in Turkey and the growing need for more international marketing opportunities for local companies, offering welding equipment, welding robots and cobots, fume extraction systems, safety equipment, etc.

The present and future of welding

Our team had the opportunity to interview Arzu Firat Ozener, Project Sales Director at Hannover Fairs Turkey, who was responsible for the welding special area. "Welding is a key area of mechanical engineering and production. That is why we decided to focus specifically on welding technologies. Turkish companies in the sector strive to expand their business internationally. But the European market poses many challenges. And the lack of qualified personnel is strongly felt", she explained.

"We cooperate not only with the industry, but also with local universities offering technical degrees and training in this field, such as METU – Middle East Technical University, and the Gedik University. The idea of the special zone was to unite industry, associations and all stakeholders", Ozener added.

The special area, which presented leading companies from the sector, including Freshweld, Zenweld, Numeko Safety, Vega Makina, Ozmetal, CLOOS, Bodor, etc., was organized in cooperation with the TMMOB Chamber of Mechanical Engineers Welding Training and Inspection Center (KEMM), the Istanbul Chamber Of Industry, etc. The conference stage in the welding special area highlighted key topics for the future of welding, such as: recent advancements and trends in welding technology, the importance of non-destructive testing, the role of international engineering and inspector programs and many more.

According to the Arzu Ozener, the future of welding cannot be fully automated, as it is a detailed and precise task in which there is no room for error and which in many cases depends on the experience and judgment of the human welder.

The power of women in industry

"In a number of situations women prove to be more detailed and precise than men", she added, drawing attention to one of the leading topics within the scope of this year´s event – the role of women in industry and in particular – in the welding sector. The organizers had set out to attract more women and young girls to seek career advancement in the welding industry. This was also reflected in the program of the conference modules and panel discussions. "The goal of the special show dedicated to welding is to show visitors the latest technologies in action – directly at the welding table", Arzu Ozener emphasized, leading us to one of the main attractions in the area – the spectacular demonstrations of female welders. With all that, WIN Eurasia 2025 showcased people, machines and technology in perfect synergy, driven by automation and defining the future of the industrial sector.
