WIN – World of Industry 2008 closed its doors with high attendance
WIN – World of Industry, the leading industry event of the Eurasian Region, closed its doors on March 2nd with the same high-level results like the previous year. Fair welcomed a total of 1.408 direct exhibitors in two parts and the total visitor number at both parts was 120.673. Besides a strong interest of the domestic industrial manufacturing sector, the fair has attracted a significant number of international buyers not only from neighboring countries but also from all over Europe, the Far-Middle East and America.
Over 50.000 sq. m net exhibition area
Organized at the same location, the state of the art TUYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Center, WIN was the central venue for seven sectors of the manufacturing industry, where the innovations, latest technologies and solutions were showcased to an international mix of audience.
The fair hosted a total of 197 direct international exhibitors coming from 15 countries in part 1 and 19 in part 2. Besides the official German pavilion with more than 50 companies, country pavilions from Spain, South Korea, Netherlands, Italy, China, German federal state of Hessian and Lower Saxony as well as an international pavilion increased the dynamism of the fair by offering new business contacts in a global market.
High level international visitors
The number of well qualified visitors coming from 70 countries (65 in 2007), was the main reason of exhibitors’ decision to come back next year. Especially the strong increase in the number of international visitors has contributed to the high satisfaction of all participants in WIN 2008. With support of more than 40 national and international associations as well as chambers of commerce from the neighboring countries, trade delegations and visitors came to the fair to strengthen their business relations with numerous producers and suppliers from Turkey and all over the world.
Successful fair organization in two parts continues
The organization of the fair in two parts continued this year too, bringing together 7 interrelated sectors of industrial production under one roof.
From 7 to 10 February, the first part welcomed exhibitors of MACHINERY’08 (13th Machine Components and Metal Working Fair), WELDING’08 (8th Joining, Welding and Cutting Technologies Fair), SURFACE TECHNOLOGY’08 (2nd Surface Treatment Technologies Fair) and MATERIALS HANDLING’08 (7th Materials Handling and Logistics Fair) fairs.
The first part welcomed thousands of professionals from all over the world and neighboring countries. The show proved once again to be an indispensable meeting place in the Eurasian Region with the exhibiting companies and represented brands as well as supporting companies. In 10 halls dedicated to the four manufacturing sectors of machinery, welding, surface treatment and materials handling, this year’s fair hosted 602 exhibitors from 15 countries, which showcased their latest technologies on a net area of 25.184 sq. m. As a result of intensive national and international promotion campaigns, 46.776 visitors from 47 countries found out about the latest trends and innovations of the relevant industries at the show.
Another highlight of the first part was the
organized by the business partner for WIN Part 1 German State of North Rhine Westphalia. Together with mechanical engineering networks from Dortmund, Duisburg and Munchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia’s regional initiatives – NRW.international and NRW.invest – prepared a program for the event. The forum presented the latest in processes and technologies in welding and cutting, new materials, surface technologies in the automobile industry, and especially forming equipment and technologies. The thematic presentations included the subjects: NRW - Germany’s first investment location, welding and cutting, new materials, innovation in the automotive market and forming equipment and innovative production technologies.
The first part of the fair hosted pavilions from Germany, Spain, South Korea and the Netherlands. Besides, individual exhibitors from 15 countries including Austria, Czech Republic, Egypt, Iran, Italy and Taiwan had the chance to establish contacts with Turkish and international companies. The first part of WIN Fairs was supported by many associations and trade publications of the industry world. For the first part 50 supporters from governmental bodies, associations and media underlined the significance of the fair as an important trading platform in the whole Eurasian Region.
From 28 February to 2 March, the second part consisted of OTOMASYON’08 (15th Industrial Automation Fair), ELECTROTECH’08 (9th Energy, Electric and Electronic Technologies Fair) and HYDROLICS & PNEUMATICS’08 (5th Fluid Power Technologies Fair) fairs.
Eurasian Business Partner
For the first time in 2008, a special seminar programme called the “Eurasian Business Partner” has been launched. With the aim of exchanging investment opportunities between European and Eurasian countries, the program had a significant international attendance. The seminar programme consisted of the following headlines: Invest in Eurasia (held by the Turkish Investment Support and Promotion Agency and Foreign Economic Relations Board), Market and Technology Trends in Machinery, Welding, Surface Treatment and Materials Sectors (held by national and international sectional associations and authorities), Market and Technology Trends in Automation, Electrotechnology and Hydraulics & Pneumatics (held by national and international sectoral associations and authorities).
The other outstanding event at the fair was the “Turkish - Egyptian Business Days”. The representatives from 37 companies together with Egyptian Commercial Office used the fair as a business platform and held face to face meetings with the Turkish manufacturers. In the context of the business days, some visits to the factories were organized for the Egyptian delegation.
Organized in the same concept with the world’s leading industrial fair “HANNOVER MESSE”, WIN – World of Industry will be organized in two parts in 2009 as well: 1st part: 5 to 8 February 2009 and 2nd part 27 February to 2 March.
