We aim innovation at every level
Schneider Electric Country President for Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia
and Kosovo, for South-East European Industrial Market magazine
Mr. Farcas, how would you describe your career in Schneider Electric, since joining the company back in 2014 to being appointed its new regional manager for Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo?
It’s been a dynamic and motivating time. Actually, at the beginning of my career path, when I was working for a Romanian distributor partner of Schneider Electric, joining Schneider seemed very interesting for me and being a sales person employee in this company was for me sort of a dream-job.
Later on, I had this very interesting positions in other companies, but when the opportunity to join Schneider Electric appeared, it was again very attractive. Our copmany is a very dynamic one and it offers plenty opportunities for development. Basically, this was valid also for me, so after joining the company as Energy Vice President for Romania and Moldova Republic, I had the chance to be involved in several projects, which gave me the chance to grow professionally and not only.
What challenges do you expect you will be faced with at your new position?
Challenge is at the heart of Schneider Electric, as it allows people to unfold their full potential. The new team and new territory itself is always a challenge, so therefore, my focus for the time being is to understand better the new environment, to become a trustful member of this solid team and afterwards to contribute together to the success of our company.
What is the first issue you will be focusing on?
Schneider Electric has a very robust operation model in Bulgaria, which brought very good results until now, and therefore my goal will be to smoothly take over the operations and continue on developing them. Moreover, the clients and partners of Schneider Electric are every time in the center of our daily activities and consequently the focus will be also in preserving the good partnerships, and in searching for new business opportunities.
What significance does the region you are now responsible for have for Schneider Electric’s activity?
Our company is a multinational company with more than 180,000 employees and with a worldwide presence and we want to use the power of our global innovation teams and technologies in order to be a reliable partner in each country.
Therefore each region is important for our company, especially when we have nicely developing stable operations, such as in Bulgaria. Our biggest factory in Europe is located here - in Radinovo, Plovdiv area. Furthermore, Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo are fast developing countries, which makes the region interesting spot that can attract and be attractive for further investments.
Are there any special innovative solutions from the company that our readers should be looking forward to?
Innovative solutions are being released constantly. Nowadays IoT allows our industry to make a great step ahead. Our very well known Prisma panels and Masterpact switchgear are now digitized. The Smart panel concept we released last year is thus constantly developing, making the overall solution more intelligent and flexible than ever.
Additionally, the Altivar Process range VSD’s with communication panel in Bulgarian language is already in sales, as well as BMS and smart home technologies add some new devices and functions each Q of the year.
On top of this, our advanced solution for smart grids and automation is widely recognized by our clients and independent research companies of being the world leading in terms of quality and features.
We aim innovation at every level - in the solution architecture, as well as in the smallest devices, but also in the way we are interacting with our partners and clients.
