Taiwan’s flagship hardware industry event – the TiTE × IHT 2025 Taiwan International Tools & Hardware Expo x International Hardware Expo Taiwan – successfully concluded on October 23 at the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center (TICEC). As the first international exhibition since the venue’s inauguration, this year’s edition marked a new milestone in scale and international participation, underscoring Taiwan’s manufacturing resilience in a transforming global landscape and signaling the start of a new exhibition era for central Taiwan.

With the theme "Team Taiwan – Collaborating to Build New Resilience in Taiwan Manufacturing", the event hosted 400 companies across 800 booths from 15 countries, covering eight major categories: hand tools, metal processing, automotive repair, fasteners, smart manufacturing, and green sustainability. Together, these showcased the breadth and depth of Taiwan’s robust industrial ecosystem.

International participation reached new heights, attracting brands and distribution representatives from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Central and Eastern Europe, including buyers from Japan, South Korea, Germany, the United States, Italy, Poland, Turkiye, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. Over 500 international buyers from 70 countries came to Taiwan specifically for sourcing opportunities.

A representative of TLL Media also visited the exhibition and presented South-East European Industrial Market and Engineering Review magazines, which drew considerable interest from visitors, highlighting growing connections between Taiwan and the Southeast European industrial sectors.

Throughout the event, more than 100 business matchmaking sessions were organized, drawing over 22 000 attendees. Despite global tariff and currency challenges, Taiwan’s manufacturing demonstrated breakthrough potential anchored in institutional support, branding, and technology – embodying the united spirit of "Team Taiwan" and opening a new chapter of "From Manufacturing to Co-Creation".

Government endorsement strengthens trusted supply chain partnerships

This year’s show received strong support from both central and local governments, reflecting joint efforts to propel industrial transformation. In his keynote remarks, President Lai Ching-te commended Taiwan’s hardware and hand tool industries for earning global trust through superior quality, reliability, and timely delivery, positioning them as a core pillar of SME exports. President Lai reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working alongside the industry to address tariff, currency, and geopolitical challenges, while promoting digital innovation and sustainable manufacturing to reinforce Taiwan’s vital role in global supply chains and amplify the "Team Taiwan" spirit.

Taichung Mayor Lu Hsiu-yen highlighted that central Taiwan houses the country’s most comprehensive hardware and metalworking clusters. Hosting the event at TICEC not only elevated Taichung’s exhibition capacity but also integrated upstream, midstream, and downstream industries, realizing the region’s "front-shop-back-factory" advantages and strengthening its status as a top global sourcing hub.

Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers’ Association Chairman Hsieh Wu-chih emphasized that TiTE x IHT’s success reflects industry advancement and deeper collaboration models: "This is not just an exhibition but a platform for collective breakthroughs, uniting government, industry associations, and manufacturers to keep Taiwan manufacturing visible on the global stage."

Lanza International Co., Ltd. General Manager Liu Tzu-feng added that Taiwan’s manufacturing value lies not only in technological excellence and quality but also in long-term trust and co-creation among partners. "Through the exhibition, we witnessed deepened supply chain integration and international connections – this collaborative depth is key to Taiwan becoming the world´s most trusted manufacturing partner".

Supply chain innovation drives smart manufacturing acceleration

In the face of evolving global trade conditions, Taiwan’s hardware industry showcased its capacity for rapid self-upgrading. Exhibitors unveiled AI-driven automation, production tracking systems, and low-carbon manufacturing processes, emphasizing advantages in small-batch customization, rapid prototyping, and reliable delivery.

The "front-shop-back-factory" approach allowed buyers to negotiate and inspect production capabilities in real time, creating efficient linkages between exhibition floors and manufacturing sites – once again affirming Taiwan’s strength of "exhibition as origin, origin as brand".

Global Hardware Summit emphasizes co-creation and sustainability

The concurrent Global Hardware Innovation Summit focused on three key themes: smart manufacturing, net-zero sustainability, and supply chain restructuring. The forum brought together domestic and international leaders from industry, academia, and government to explore how Taiwan can adopt co-creation strategies and innovative thinking to stay competitive amid global transitions.

Hasegawa Naoya, President of the Tsubame-Sanjo Regional Industries Promotion Center and Hasegawa Works, shared insights on "Tsubame-Sanjo Regional Revitalization and Youth Talent Cultivation", explaining how Japan fosters local regeneration through vocational education and cross-sector collaboration.

Cheng Kung University’s Yusheng Environmental Control Research Center Executive Director Hsieh Tsung-hsun, in his session "Carbon Inventory and Manufacturing Transformation under Global Policy", emphasized that carbon footprint management and green supply chains have become essential thresholds for global competitiveness. He urged enterprises to engage in collaborative innovation and sustainable transformation to seize leadership in the next industrial era.

A session on "Smart Lean and Digital Inheritance" examined how AI, automation, and knowledge management are enabling traditional industries to build digital resilience and sustainable value. Supported by complete clusters, flexible supply chains, and high-value production, Taiwan is steadily transitioning from manufacturing to co-creation, establishing itself as the most reliable strategic partner for global brands and buyers.

2026 outlook: Advancing toward Asia’s smart manufacturing platform in the co-creation era

Looking ahead, TiTE x IHT 2026 will return to the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center from October 20 – 22, 2026, with the theme "From Manufacturing to Co-Creation". The upcoming edition will emphasize joint R&D, collaborative design, and integrated supply, extending the Team Taiwan vision to promote continuous industrial upgrades.

Next year’s edition will further enhance international matchmaking and buyer databases, incorporating AI-powered smart matching systems and cross-border procurement platforms to transition exhibitors from "product presentation" to "solution co-creation".

Maintaining its standing as "Taiwan’s Largest, Asia’s Premier" event, TiTE x IHT aims to remain the most trusted, results-oriented smart manufacturing platform, showcasing Taiwan’s industrial excellence while fostering new global co-creation paradigms for the manufacturing sector.
