Taiwan highlights AI-powered machine tool innovations at EMO 2025

Taiwan made a notable impact at EMO 2025, securing the fourth spot globally with 121 participating exhibitors. Under the theme "AI Shaping the Future", Taiwan demonstrated how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing manufacturing through enhanced precision, efficiency, and sustainability.

During the Taiwan AI Empowered Machine Tool Industry Executive Dialogue, industry leaders highlighted Taiwan’s well-established ecosystem – covering electronics, ICT, semiconductors, and machinery – as a key driver in accelerating AI integration into machine tools.

Notable innovations included:

  • Cosen Precision: An AI sawing system improving efficiency and stability in the aerospace sector.
  • She Hong: AI-driven thermal compensation technology enhancing mold machining accuracy by 60%.
  • HOSEA Precision: An AIoT platform that helps SMEs advance with predictive maintenance and energy efficiency.

Industry groups TAMI and TMBA emphasized Taiwan’s evolution from competing on cost to competing on value, advocating for digital transformation and the development of an AI knowledge-sharing platform to support faster implementation.

 

What’s ahead

Looking forward, Taiwan will continue showcasing its advancements at TMTS 2026 in Taichung (focusing on AI Empowerment and Sustainable Smart Manufacturing) and TIMTOS 2027 in Taipei (highlighting Deep AI Integration in Smart Manufacturing).

From aerospace and automotive to complete machinery and components, Taiwan’s AI-driven machine tool sector is evolving rapidly and is poised to play a significant role in the global shift toward intelligent manufacturing.
