Sunotec expands in Southeast Europe with launch of Sunotec Romania

Sunotec, a European leader in large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage solutions, has launched Sunotec Romania, marking a major step in strengthening its presence across Southeast Europe. The move underscores Sunotec’s commitment to supporting the region’s clean energy transition. With the EU’s decarbonisation drive and rising demand for renewables, Romania emerges as a key growth market, targeting over 8 GW of solar capacity by 2030.

Since entering Romania in 2024, Sunotec has built 132 MWp of capacity and developed a pipeline exceeding 1 GWp of solar and 1 GWh of storage projects. The new entity will offer turnkey solutions covering development, engineering, construction, and operations. Led by George Drobot, Sunotec Romania aims to combine local expertise with European engineering excellence, ensuring reliable, high-performance renewable assets.
