Ferro-Preis was founded in the mid-20th century in the city of Cakovec, Croatia, under the original name Foundry Cakovec (Ljevaonica Cakovec). Since then there has been a long tradition of development and production of grey cast iron (EN GJL) products and castings - such as motor housings, pumps and other industry components. In the year 1991, Foundry Cakovec became part of Preis Group, based in Pernitz, Austria and the company name was changed to Ferro-Preis Cakovec.
The company manufactures a variety of castings made of grey cast iron according to customer specifications, such as housings of electric motors, pump parts, bearing housings, gear castings, components for diverse industries, manhole covers. With an annual production of approx. 10.000 tons and more than 180 employees, the company Ferro-Preis is one of leading grey cast iron foundries and producers in southeast Europe. More than 90% of the production is sold to the export markets, mainly customers from EU (Austria, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Italy, France, Sweden).
