Somsol to build 240 MW solar power plant in Montenegro

The Montenegrin company Somsol is planning to build a new solar power plant with an installed capacity of 240 MW in Somina near Niksic. The investor has submitted a request to the Environmental Protection Agency for a decision on the need to prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the project.

The total area designated for the construction of this energy facility is 3,8 million square meters, with the solar power plant itself occupying 77% of this area. All the land necessary for the construction of the planned facilities has been acquired and purchase agreements have been signed. Previous analyses conducted by the applicant have determined that 240 MW is the maximum capacity of the future solar power plant.
