Slovenia’s Store Steel to launch EUR 30 million metallurgy centre

Slovenian steel manufacturer Store Steel plans to open a new secondary metallurgy centre valued at over EUR 30 million. The new facility will enhance Store Steel’s ability to produce high-strength steels with improved mechanical properties. This development is expected to support the company’s expansion beyond the automotive industry into more specialized sectors, while also increasing its production capacity by more than 10%.

Store Steel’s managing director, Matevz Fazarinc, said the company aims to produce approximately 140 000 tonnes of steel products in 2025 – up from 118 000 tonnes in 2024.
Store Steel is primarily active in the European automotive market, serving both commercial and passenger vehicle manufacturers. Its product portfolio includes spring steel, engineering (forging) steel, and Exem steel.
