Universal Instruments Corporation has announced the appointment of Peter Bollinger as Director of European Operations, effective from January 2006. Operating from Universal’s in Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt, Bollinger took over the role from Brad Benett, who has relocated back to Universal Instruments’ Binghamton facility. Omron has introduced new high temperature versions of its D3V miniature unsealed switch designed to withstand temperatures of up to 200oC in domestic ovens and similar applications. Rated at 11, 6 and 0.1A the new Omron D3V switches use Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) plastic molding material because of its excellent high-temperature performance, inherent flame retardance and chemical resistance.
