Metal Show & TIB 2024 to focus on decarbonisation of metal processing

Metal Show & TIB – Romania’s leading event in the area of machine tools, equipment, raw materials, new products, and solutions to optimize production processes, will take place from 14 to 17 May 2024 in Bucharest. The fair aims to become the networking place where the debated ideas will identify solutions for the challenges the metal processing industry encounters in the new socio-economic context.

“With the strong impact on the environment due to technological development, environmental responsibility has become a European directive, and EU legislation provides for the reduction of carbon emissions by 60% by 2030 (compared to the 1990 level). In this context, Metal Show & TIB 2024 emphasizes, for the first time in Romania, the promotion of technologies and solutions that contribute to reducing the carbon footprint in the metal processing industry”, says organizer Romexpo.

Metal Show & TIB 2024 will provide answers to questions concerning the size of the carbon footprint that a company leaves, the carbon footprint of different pieces of equipment, approaches to carbon emissions reduction and resource management. The trade fair will promote energy efficient equipment, solutions for automation and digitization of production processes, in the context of the energy transition, advanced less invasive processing technologies (laser, water, or microfabrication), renewable energy and energy storage systems, and sustainable materials with low impact on the environment.

Two thematic conferences will take place as part of the supporting program. On 15 May the conference “Save energy, save costs!” will explore the latest innovations and efficient practices optimizing energy consumption and reducing costs in production processes. On the following day, 16 May, the conference “Additive Manufacturing” will present the latest trends, advanced materials, and innovative industrial applications in the field. Through case studies and interactive discussions, it will be possible to understand the potential to optimize products and transform production.
