Melexis

Melexis is a Belgian company, leading manufacturer of advanced mixed signal semiconductors, sensor ICs, and programmable sensor IC systems. It is present in 12 countries worldwide. Melexis Bulgaria was established in 2000. The company’s scope of activities includes microelectronic component manufacturing, sensors, IC’s for the automotive industry. Melexis Bulgaria IC’s are used in the vehicles of companies like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, VW, Suzuki, Toyota, GM and Ford.

The Bulgarian production is based in Sofia in a 7 800 sq. m facility containing office space, R&D, test areas, and over 1 000 m2 clean rooms for handling semiconductors. In 2006 and 2007 Melexis invested over 13 mln euro to improve its Bulgarian operations.

Melexis Bulgaria is involved in component manufacturing, R&D and testing activities. In 2007 Melexis was granted the famous French Electron d’Or Award for its infrared thermometer developed in the R&D facility in Sofia.
