LPKF Laser & Electronics
Established in 1976, LPKF in Garbsen is a producer of lasers and electronics for printed circuit board technology. The company name LPKF stands for "Leiterplatten-Kopierfrasen" - translated "circuit board copy milling".
When the company was first established, it used CAD controlled milling technology as an efficient and pollution free alternative to etching. At that time, this was a revolution, and today it has become an industry standard.
LPKF’s production covers the complete operational sequence of in-house prototyping. Today the company is one of the world market leaders in the "in-house rapid PCB prototyping" and "StencilLaser" services.
"The beginning of the 90’s was crucial in extending services offered, with the development from laser systems to direction disk production," notes the company website. Altogether the company employs at present about 780 employees and worldwide LPKF customers are accompanied by subsidiaries and/or commercial representations.

The thermal characteristic of the protected object is crucial; for example the electric cable, the wiring harness or the semiconductor switch in the connected control unit. Instead of safety fuses or electro-magnetically triggered mechanical contacts, electronic fuses contain semiconductor switches along with their control logic including protective and diagnostic functions
