SPS IPC Drives 2015: for the first time with Industry 4.0 area
For the first time at this year’s edition of SPS IPC Drives there was a separate hall dedicated to the leading topic - Industry 4.0 - hall 3A.
”Industry 4.0 changes the world of industrial production. The intelligent networking of machines, systems and products along the value chain creates new potentials. Extensive information about the topic, products, solutions, innovations and trends in the field which act as a trailblazer for Industry 4.0 were presented at SPS IPC Drives 2015”, the organizers pointed out. In hall 3A of the Nuremberg exhibition center there were special on-topic exhibition areas, joint stands as well as interesting presentations at the exhibition forum ”Automation meets IT”.
The forum ”Automation meets IT” took place in hall 3A, booth 3A-630 / 3A-530. Exhibitors gave visionary impulses and presented IT-based solutions in the field of automation technology on the way to the digital production of the future as well as databased business models. Interesting lectures and podia dealing with the topic Industry 4.0 were run concurrently at the exhibition forum.
Among the participants in the specialized Industry 4.0 area were: Baumueller Nuernberg; Bosch Rexroth; EPLAN Software & Service; MyOmega System Technologies; ORmatiC BU phiMatic;
Pepperl+Fuchs; Phoenix Contact; Rhebo; Siemens; steute Schaltgerate; znt Zentren fur Neue Technologien.
”MES goes Automation” and Smart Factory
In hall 3A, booth 3A-740, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) were presented as a central element of Industry 4.0. ”Manufacturing Execution Systems connect the automation level with the organizational level. With the use of MES, order processing and production processes are optimized. Visitors could get comprehensive information on the subject at the MES joint stand ”MES goes Automation” of VDE publishing house”, Messe Frankfurt representatives added.
In hall 3A, booth 3A-440 of the Nuremberg exhibition center the special ”DFKI-SmartFactoryKL” presentation was held. ”The event answered the question how shorter production cycles and the increasing individualization of products will be handled due to the growing cost pressure. SmartFactoryKL delivers answers to the challenges and automation tasks of tomorrow. The cross-manufacturer Industry 4.0 plant which was realized by SmartFactoryKL together with renowned industrial companies presents a highly flexible automated production with standardized interfaces and modern information technology”, the organizers stated.
SPS IPC Drives Forum
The complementary program of this year’s event was diverse and comprehensive. It included interesting panel discussions about up-to-date automation issues directed by publishing houses and associations. The exhibitors presented their most innovative technologies and solutions for every automation task within the scope of product and company presentations.
