Infineon opens Bucharest R&D centre
Infineon Technologies has opened a development centre in Bucharest for power semiconductors with analogue and digital functions. The developmental activities being performed in Bucharest for the area of security controllers for chip cards are integrated into the research alliance with the established centres in Munich and Graz.
Infineon Technologies is also working the University Politehnica of Bucharest to support local graduates with master-level programmes of study which will meet future R&D requirements in the semiconductor industry. The firm expects to double the number of developers working at the centre to 120.
