Huf opens largest testing and validation center in Romania

Secure car access and authorization solutions company Huf inaugurated its new Technical Center Romania Laboratory (TCRL) in Timisoara. The event was attended by local and central administration representatives, academic partners and employees, who also took the chance to explore the modern facility.

On 1700 square meters Huf has installed top equipment to test and validate products like car door handles but also classical, smart and digital car keys for the automotive industry. The new TCRL is now the largest testing and validation center in the global Huf network. In total, Huf is now running Technical Centers in Germany, Romania, China, Mexico and India.

“Huf is pursuing a clear growth strategy: the company aims to reach EUR 2 billion net sales by 2031 – and Huf Romania will play an even more important role than ever before to reach this target. In Timisoara we are already developing the software and electronic products of tomorrow to provide the most innovative car access and authorization solutions to the automotive industry. With the new TCRL we establish the largest testing and validation center in the global Huf network of competence centers. It will serve all five Huf sites in Europe – Portugal, Spain, Poland, Germany and Romania – to supply high quality products to our automotive customers”, said Huf’s CTO Bogdan Nuna.

The new TCRL is the latest example for the rapid growth of Huf Romania S.R.L. Started in 2006 in Arad with the first production plant, Huf opened a Technical Center in Timisoara and moved with the team in December 2019 to the modern offices of the ISHO building. A few months ago, this TCR reached the milestone of 300 employees just in Timisoara. In total, Huf employs around 1000 experts in Romania.
