GLO Marine announces EUR 6 million expansion with new integrated facility in Galati

Romanian marine engineering company GLO Marine has announced a major step in its growth strategy with the establishment of a new integrated assembly and production facility in Galati. The EUR 6 million investment marks a significant expansion of the company’s execution infrastructure and is aimed at strengthening its capacity to deliver complex vessel upgrades and offshore projects.

According to company representatives, the new facility is designed not merely to increase production capacity but to consolidate engineering, fabrication, electrical integration and system pre-assembly within a single operational framework. By bringing these capabilities together, GLO Marine intends to enhance control over project execution and improve delivery performance across increasingly sophisticated maritime retrofit programs.

Construction of the Galati facility is already underway. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of the year, with production expected to begin in February 2027. Once operational, the site will create approximately 40 skilled technical positions, reinforcing the company’s multidisciplinary expertise and supporting its long-term operational growth.

The Galati site will support the design, fabrication and pre-integration of complex, multi-disciplinary systems. These include steel structures and secondary outfitting components, advanced piping systems and prefabricated spools, skid-based and modular mechanical assemblies, electrical panels and switchboards, as well as hybrid-ready modules prepared for integration. The facility will also enable the preparation of pre-configured retrofit packages, including air lubrication systems, within a controlled production environment.
