On May 19, 2010, the photovoltaic park near the village of Blatets in the municipality of Sliven was officially opened. The newly erected solar power station is owned by Naturkraft EOOD – a company of EVN Group, which develops projects in the field of renewable energy sources (RES). Investment in the facility totals approximately EUR 3m (about BGN6m).
The photovoltaic power plant has been operating successfully and at full capacity since the beginning of March 2010 and is the biggest photovoltaic power plant of EVN Group. Total electricity generated so far amounts to 340,000kWh. The newly erected solar energy park comprises 3 groups of photovoltaic elements with a total performance of 836.7kWp (kilowatt peak). The functionality of the solar park has already yielded a positive impact on the environment - to this date alone, 208 tonnes of harmful carbon-dioxide emissions have been avoided
