The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is investing USD 50 million in a Eurobond issued by Cimko Cimento ve Beton Sanayi, a joint-stock company based in Türkiye. Cimko plans to use the funds from its USD 300 million Eurobond issuance to support its decarbonization investment program and to refinance existing obligations. This Eurobond will strengthen Cimko’s financial position and serve as a strong example for other Turkish companies aiming to diversify their capital market funding sources.

Cimko manufactures and sells cement, clinker, aggregates, and ready-mixed concrete, operating facilities in Kahramanmaras, Adiyaman, and Bartin. The company is part of Sanko Holding, a major Turkish industrial group with activities in textiles, energy, cement, and packaging, and one of the largest employers in southeastern Türkiye.
This investment highlights the EBRD’s ongoing dedication to its low-carbon pathways initiative, which focuses on reducing emissions in Türkiye’s steel, aluminum, cement, and fertilizer industries.
