Electronic Cash Registers Manufacturing in South-Eastern Europe

Datecs Ltd. marks its beginning in the early months of 1990 when a group of researchers from the Institute of Applied Cybernetics at the Bulgarian Academy of Science got together.
In 1994 Datecs entered the ECR market by collaborating with Samsung. In 1996 Datecs presented to the world its first electronic cash register (ECR), the MP500. In just a few years, over 100,000 devices were sold in 11 countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

The company is among the leading manufacturers and developers of innovative POS solutions. Its product lines include mobile payment systems, printers, cash registers, barcode readers, and peripheral devices, digital scales. The company is working with companies from 94 countries and 6 continents.

In 2001 Datecs introduced a Total Quality Management System certified on ISO 9001:2000 and by the end of 2001 it fulfilled all requirements on the standard ISO 9001:2000 and successfully passed the certification. Ever since, TQM has been an integral role in the development and manufacturing of the company’s products.
