Chimcomplex implements innovative technology for green polyol production

Romania’s Chimcomplex concluded a project aimed at making the company’s production processes eco-friendly and aligning its activities with circular economy principles. The total eligible value of the project, implemented at the Rm Valcea plant, is EUR 2 431 000, with non-repayable financial assistance amounting to EUR 1 215 000.

The innovative “green polyols”, produced using the new technology, replace the petrochemical components of conventional polyols with less polluting alternatives or natural oils such as castor oil, soybean oil, and palm oil. Further down the production chain, these “green polyols” are used to create soft foams for pillows, mattresses, and other automotive components. The new production line will allow Chimcomplex to increase its existing capacity by an additional 17 000 t of special polyols annually.
