Carlo Gavazzi - sensors for rugged applications

NewsSouth-East European INDUSTRIAL Мarket - issue 2/2006

New inductive proximity sensors designed for rugged applications are being introduced by Carlo Gavazzi UK. The sensors have been designed for use on heavy mobile vehicles such as cranes, concrete trucks and refuse lorries.

The SPEC1785 inductive proximity sensors are housed in industrial standard stainless steel bodies, which are available in lengths of 35mm and 50mm. The devices are rated at IP67 to ensure a high degree of protection against the environment they have to work in. OLFLEX 170 Truck cable is fitted as standard, which has been tested for resistance to mineral and synthetic oils, cutting oils, coolant and emulsions. The cable is said to be ideal for applications that under go excessive flexing and rotation.

The SPEC1785 sensors offer an operating temperature range of -25C to +70C allowing them to tolerate harsh outdoor conditions and temperature fluctuations. Additional features include immunity to extreme shock and vibration levels.
