Since early 2013, BSM has been working actively on developing and putting in production a wide range of lighting fixtures based exclusively on LED technologies. All that work was made easier owing to 10 years of technological and production experience with aluminum and plastic parts.
The company has already developed and put in production lighting fixtures for the following applications: street and parking lot lighting; office lighting; facade, garden and store/mall lighting; household lighting for fountains; illumination of CNC machines; sports facilities lighting; industrial lighting, etc. The company’s policy is focused on providing their customers with complete solutions and, most of all, energy-saving solutions based on LED technologies.
”Over the last 2 years we have invested more than BGN 1 million in molds, machines and technologies for the manufacturing of LED lighting fittings. The latest trend is towards launching luminaries that are more and more efficient due to the super quick improvement of the parameters of light-emitting diodes of all groups: low-power, high-power, group, COP, etc.
Lighting fittings’ cooling technologies are developing quickly as well. Last but not least, we should mention the dropping prices of lighting components, mainly of LED and drivers,” say company’s experts.
”Bulgarian manufacturers manage to keep up with technological innovations despite their financial difficulties at almost all levels. They are characterized by the will to meet the requirements of all European and world standards,” they add.
The technological features of LED lights allow much more efficient and directed use of the emitted light flow, better implementation of spatial diagrams and saving large amounts of energy due to the use of electronic modules.
”Diode’s long life and minimized maintenance cost are huge advantages. However, LED lights still have setbacks like sensitivity to overheating, lightning and contamination. Their price is increasingly affordable, thus allowing for quick return on investment.
Manufacturers guarantee the quality of their LED lights through descriptions of technical parameters linked somehow to long warranty periods, sometimes up to 5 or 10 years.
Although new technologies present undoubted advantages, there is a great deal of serious issues with the standardization of LED lights and their application in public procurement.
The most important thing to do at this stage is to shed light on the procedures for compilation of technical requirements and the objective evaluation of applicants. So far, there is no such evaluation. That is where the intervention of competent state authorities is sought,” comment BSM experts.
